Modern Aerospace

   For many years Modern Materials, Inc. has applied engineered coatings that were developed by N.A.S.A.  Foremost among these is the “Impreglon” family of metal treatments that very few coaters in the United States are allowed to apply.  Modern Materials, Inc. works closely with several institutions that allow Modern to continuously offer services to improve many different areas in the Aerospace market.  Modern Materials, Inc. is proud to have done work in the past for customers like N.A.S.A., Boeing, and the United States Air Force.       

 

Hi-Tech Finishes Conventional Finishes
  • AE1331:  A high impact coating that reduces friction and wear.  Will outlast chrome.

  • AE0103: A low-friction impregnation containing PTFE & Moly.  Grey in Color.  Thickness as low as 0.0005”

  • AE1010: A low friction coating containing PTFE.  Has an unlimited ability to resist brake fluids and most other fluids.

  • AE0PTI:  A sprayable rubber/like coating that resists high impact and abrasion .  Passes 10 year gravelometer testing.   Offers excellent corrosion protection and is black in color.  Thicknesses: 0.050” >.

  • AEOZYP:  A space-age coating for metals that is able to transfer heat up to 2,400 degrees Fahrenheit.  Gray in appearance.   Thin films of less than .002”.   Will withstand the direct effects of propane torch on ¼” thick steel. Refractory coating. 

 

AE490T:  A TGIC thermoplastic powder coating available in all colors.  Offers excellent outdoor weathering capability and outstanding corrosion protection on all metallic surfaces.  Can be machined with precision.
