Modern Food Processing

For nearly 30 years Modern Materials, Inc. has been providing engineered coating services to the Food Industry.  Beginning with Impreglon, a Teflon impregnation of metallic surfaces, Modern Materials, Inc. has been able to treat a variety of components such as gears and sprockets, hoppers, feed mechanisms, slicers, knives, and mixing blades.  Our Processes can all be used in direct food contact applications.  They offer low-friction, non-stick, and corrosion resistance properties.  A new series will even kill bacteria on contact.

Hi-Tech Finishes Conventional Finishes
  • FD0101: Impreglon.  An FDA compliant coating.  Unsurpassed release and corrosion resistance.   Black in Color.   Film thickness:  .001 to .003”

  • FD0218:  Impreglon.  A fluorocarbon metal impregnation of PTFE.  Reduces friction and wear while enhancing corrosion protection on metallic substrates.  FDA compliant.

  • FD500P:  An FDA approved coating.  This PVF2 coating is the hardest know thermo-plastic and has good release properties.   Amazing corrosion protection against all acids and alkalines.   Is machinable and available in Green, Black, Blue, and White colors.

  • FD0AMB: An organic coat that kills most bacteria and microbes on contact.  Is especially effective against Staphylococcus and E-Coli and is registered by the United States Environmental Protection Agency as a preservative and bacteriostatic agent for use in treated substrates under 40 CFR 152.25a.   Colors:  White, gray, black.

Modern Materials provides a long list of Powder and Liquid finishes for non-food contact areas.   These are offered in a host of colors manufactured to customer specifications.   Parts up to 10’ long and weighing 3,500 pounds can easily be processed.     Modern Materials, Inc. also custom engineers coatings to meet customer specifications.
